Signing up for Open Consignment!

Links to our Sign Up Genius pages are always posted on our Facebook Page at 2pm on Sunday afternoons.

Please make sure to quality check your items BEFORE arriving. YOU ARE OUR FIRST LINE OF QUALITY CONTROL! See below for more details.

Please only sign up for one spot per week to allow others to participate! If you participated last week please do not sign up for this week- we would like to try to accommodate everyone! We still welcome people dropping items for friends and neighbors – please just ensure you sign them up in a slot on the Sign Up Genius. Each person needs their own slot so we can account for the volume of items!

All NEW consignors welcome! Please be prepared to spend approximately 10 minutes at your first open consignment to review items. After that, you can enjoy the quick and easy process of just dropping and donating at open consignment!

APPOINTMENTS ARE ALWAYS AN OPTION AND AVAILABLE! If you want to consign and shop on the same day or you can’t attend the standard time slots – we encourage you to simply make an appointment!

All normal open consignment procedures will continue, and include:

    • After signing up for an open slot on Sign Up Genius, please prep all your items and ensure they are not stained, torn, excessively wrinkled, and are from the past 2 years. Remember, YOU ARE OUR FIRST LINE OF QUALITY CONTROL!
    • Please place items in a loosely tied bag that you don’t need back & have your name/address/phone # on a separate paper that you will hand to us.
    • PREPPING all your items allow us to process faster and have more open consignments for everyone!
    • No more then 50 OF YOUR VERY BEST ITEMS during open consignment. A shorts set (2 pieces) = 1 item. All seasons accepted. This is “drop and donate”, meaning what isn’t sellable will be donated to our amazing local and global charities. Ask us about them!
    • Toys are ALWAYS in demand. Reminder: anything requiring a battery should have a working battery installed and please ensure they are CLEAN.
    • No large items such as strollers, high chairs, etc during open consignment. Please make an appointment!

Proper preparation produces profit! With Lucy’s massive increase of consigners, we’d like to take a moment to highlight the importance of prepping your consignment for drop off.
YOU ARE THE 1st AND MOST IMPORTANT PART OF OUR QUALITY CONTROL! Dropping off items that are stained, wrinkled, torn, or off brand means we spend limited time and resources processing clothing that we’re unable to sell. Please take a moment for EVERY ITEM to ensure they are:
-Marketable Brands such as Nike, Gap, Under Armour, Vineyard Vine, Matilda Jane, etc
-Without stains, loose threads, or holes
-And ask yourself “Would I buy this for $4.99 or more?”
-No more than 50 of your VERY BEST items

You may have noticed we keep things simple, work long hours, and operate out of a 128 year old building…but Lucy’s continues to thrive and grow despite neighboring big box stores and online giants thanks to your word-of-mouth marketing!
You are part of a local, grassroots effort to earn and save money while saving the environment. Let people know about the good you’re doing, help friends and family save money, and sell your items faster by sending more shoppers to Lucy’s!

Consignment Terms and Conditions:

These terms and conditions create a contract (the “Agreement”) between the consignor (“you” or the “Consignor”) and Lucy’s Consignment, LLC (“we” or “Lucy’s”). Please read this Agreement carefully. THIS AGREEMENT WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL YOU OR LUCY’S CONSIGNMENT TERMINATES IT.

Items Accepted for Consignment

1. Kidswear:
We accept new with tags, unworn, or freshly laundered, gently used goods in very good to excellent condition purchased new within the last two to three years. We accept all seasons, all the time.
Kids items NOT ACCEPTED include:
Used Underwear
School or Local Business Gear
Box Store Brands
Stained or excessively worn and wrinkled
Adult clothing

2. Maternity
We are very selective when it comes to our maternity section! We accept only new with tags, name brand, purchased within the last year:
Maternity items NOT ACCEPTED include:
Used Underwear
Stained or excessively worn and wrinkled

3. Toys
Items accepted include toys, games, puzzles, and books. Please take the time to process your toys, games, and puzzles before dropping to ensure they are CLEAN and in working order with all of their pieces and parts. Batteries need to be included.
Toy items NOT ACCEPTED include:
Vintage toys
Hot wheels tracks (we accept cars)
Nerf guns without accessories
Dirty or soiled

4. Large Items
Lucy’s consignment does take some large items, such as Pack N Plays, bassinets, strollers, bikes, and other outdoor items. All large items dropped must be reviewed before we can commit to taking your items.
Large items NOT ACCEPTED include:
Power wheels
Any recalled baby equipment
Stained or excessively used

PLEASE NOTE THAT LUCY’S CONSIGNMENT WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY ITEMS WITH HOLES, TEARS, STAINS, PILLING, MISSING BUTTONS OR TRIM, BROKEN ZIPPERS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND. ALL ITEMS INCLUDING SHOES SHOULD BE FRESHLY LAUNDERED, FREE OF PET HAIR, ODORS, INSECTS OR ANY OTHER CONDITION THAT IMPAIRS THE SALEABILITY OF SUCH ITEM. IT IS UP TO LUCY’S SOLE DISCRETION IF AN ITEM IS UNSELLABLE. LUCYS RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY ITEMS WE DEEM ARE UNSALEABLE DUE TO LOW RESALE VALUE, CONDITION, AUTHENTICITY OR OTHER ISSUES AT ANY TIME DURING THE CONSIGNMENT PERIOD AND SHALL HAVE NO OBLIGATION TO COMPLETE ANY SALES PERIOD FOR ANY SUCH ITEMS DEEMED UNSALEABLE.

Consigning With Lucy’s Consignment

We accept drops by appointment only. Walk-ins will NOT be accepted.

Sales of Consigned Goods

1. Commissions. Consignors will receive a commission on items that sell. Consignors will receive 40% back on clothing and costume items (any item that is hung on a hanger). Items are priced at the shop’s discretion. Prices may be adjusted or items donated if spots, tears, etc. are found after items are accepted for consignment. Non-clothing items, such as toys, shoes, books, strollers, etc., are under a 50-50 split and must be clean and in good working order. If equipment is found to be defective after consigned, it may be donated at shops discretion without notification.

2. Payment. Consignors will receive proceeds through a mailed check. We will mail checks three times a year (April, August, December). A $5.00 processing charge will be deducted from each check. If check is not cashed in 90 days no reissues will be offered.

Consignors Representations, Warranties and Indemnification

The Consignor hereby warrants to Lucy’s that it has good and marketable title to the Property, none of which is subject to any liens, security interests or other encumbrances, and further warrants to Lucy’s that the Property consigned pursuant to this Agreement is not in violation of any trademark, copyright, or other proprietary right of any third party or of any state or federal law or administrative regulation. The Consignor hereby agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Lucy’s from all damages, suits, litigation, awards and costs, including but not limited to attorney’s fees that may arise out of the display or sale of the Property for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to civil or criminal claims regarding authenticity, legality, ownership, infringement of copyright or trademark or any other claim that may exist in law or equity.

Delivery of Property; Risk of Loss; Insurance.

Lucy’s will accept Property from you on a consignment basis only. Clothing and goods become the property of the shop for the time Lucy’s has it on consignment. Once handed over to Lucy’s, Consignor gives sole selling responsibility to Lucy’s and may not sell elsewhere. Lucy’s Consignment Shop assumes no responsibility for items destroyed by fire, theft, or acts of God.

Unsold Property

For Property remaining unsold after the sales term, Lucy’s will donate to an organization of their choosing.

Miscellaneous.

1. This Agreement, including all attachments, constitutes the entire agreement among the parties to this transaction and replaces all prior agreements, communications and representations. No agreements, communications or representations made by any party to this Agreement that is not expressly stated in this Agreement are legally binding.

2. No Implied Waiver. Either party’s failure to insist, in any one or more instances on strict performance by the other party of any of the terms to this Agreement shall not be construed as a waiver of any continuing or subsequent failure to perform or delay in performance of any term hereof.

3. Severability. If one or more of the provisions of this Agreement shall be declared or held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any respect in any jurisdiction, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions hereof shall not in any way be affected or impaired thereby and any such declaration or holding shall not invalidate or render unenforceable such provision in any other jurisdiction.

4. Headings. Headings used in this Agreement are provided for convenience only and shall not be used to construe meaning or intent.

5. Choice of Law. This Agreement and any breach thereof or claims relating to or arising therefrom shall be construed and governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.

By consigning with Lucy’s Consignment Shop, you are hereby agreeing to the above terms.
